Find out why Burlington is Painting the Fire Hydrants Grey
While driving around Burlington recently I’ve noticed that the fire hydrants around town are being painted Grey, and wondered why….was it a new modern take on the old classic?
Well no, its much more practical than that, its primer. As it turns out the Region of Halton is responsible for the Hydrants and their maintenance. They will return to their iconic Red soon enough. Did you also know the colour on the top of the Hydrant also indicates how much water that specific hydrant can flow. The most powerful hydrants have a blue top and the weakest are all red. There are also green and yellow hydrants which fall in the middle ground.
Dogs can soon resume their usual activities on the red hydrants all shiny and new.
